Chris Pollard
Chris Pollard is the Head Baseball Coach at the University of Virginia and one of the most accomplished coaches in college baseball. A Virginia native and Davidson College graduate, Pollard has spent more than two decades building successful programs at the collegiate level.
Before returning home to Virginia, Pollard spent 13 seasons leading Duke Baseball, becoming the winningest coach in program history. During his tenure, Duke made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, reached four Super Regionals, and captured two ACC Tournament championships. He also coached 50 MLB Draft picks, 28 All-ACC selections, nine Freshman All-Americans, and seven All-Americans.
Prior to Duke, Pollard led both Pfeiffer and Appalachian State, earning conference championships and Coach of the Year honors at each stop. Across 26 seasons as a collegiate head coach, he has built a reputation for developing players, establishing strong cultures, and creating programs capable of competing at the highest level.
Now leading Virginia Baseball, Pollard brings his experience, leadership, and proven approach back to his home state as he begins a new chapter with the Cavaliers.
